The Lonesome Buckwhips are a country comedy band from high in the hills of Corstorphine, Dunedin. Comprising four siblings, Arty, Miri, Benny and Gary Buckwhip, they sing surprisingly tunefully about their hard-luck lives and aspirations. They fInd favour mainly among middle and-upper income urban audiences who take comfort and delight in the effortless way that the Buckwhip family conforms to popular stereotypes about the character and behaviour of the impecunious. 

They played and toured consistently from 2007 to 2011 and remain popular entertainment at each others weddings.
