Arthur received the Bruce Mason Award for Playwrighting, the Arts Foundation Harriet Friedlander New York Residency, the inaugural CNZ Playmarket Playwrights Studio Scotland Residency, a Fulbright New Zealand award and was Summer Resident at the Michael King Writers Centre. 

His work is licensed, screened and performed throughout New Zealand and in Australia, the US & UK. His published work is studied in New Zealand high schools.
 
He developed comedy, sitcom, drama and soap opera for New Zealand television. He was a member of the story table for Shortland Street, New Zealand’s most popular scripted show. He contributed to several other shows as an advisor, editor, uncredited writer and storyliner. His first feature film is in development.
